Christmas Quiz Night raises over £600!

Over 80 students, parents and staff had a wonderfully festive evening last Thursday at the Charity Christmas Quiz held in the Island VI Form main hall. Organised by Student Voice, the event brought our school community together at Christmas time and helped to support a very worthwhile cause.

Miss Lowthion quizzed everyone on their Christmas knowledge, with rounds on music, history, literature and films. The volunteers from the Pyle Street Pantry attended, to tell the students about their work to distribute food throughout the year, and £600 was raised on the night to go towards their work and the Year 13 Prom. The winning team, who took home the inaugural Island VI Form trophy, were "No Quizness like Snow Quizness".

History and Geology teacher Vix Lowthion said "It was such a busy night, with so many teams of students taking part that we had to bring out more tables! Huge congratulations to the Student Voice team for bringing everyone together over mince pies and mulled apple juice. To raise so much money on their first quiz was such a boost. Watch this space regarding future quiz events!"
